ARTIST STATEMENT:
I work with Super 8mm film because I want to slow everything down. Waiting for my footage to be developed, I want to be secretly hopeful, daringly confident, and always excited. Film is patient and forgiving in ways that digital photography and videography are not. I am a fast-paced, spontaneous person, and film is a good friend, reminding me that my best work comes when I slow down; that my first instinct is probably the best one; that I will have to wait for it anyway, so why stress?

In a world where everything is and can easily be recorded, I want my work with film to be an act of resistance through intentionality, patience, and generous attention.
